Where to Stay Istanbul has several offers for budget travelers, where Cheap, Clean and safe accommodation is possible. Most of the budget hotels and hostels are located in Sultanahmed district. Hostels offers cheap, budget and clean stay in Istanbul. Many backpackers are choosing to stay at Hostels, where they can meet with other travelers and share their experiences..
In high season, which is from May to October, Hostels are getting full at early morning hours. So you should better have a confirmed reservation at least for the first night. Most hostels are located in Sultanahmed region, Especially if you go behind the Sultanahmet square to the Marmara sea side, (Around Akbiyik Street) you can find several options. However due to new location demands some hostels are moving to Beyoglu district nowadays.
As I live in Istanbul, I have never stayed in any of these hostels. But just for a suggestion I will name some of them and my point while choosing is mainly how they look, their location and the current demand on them. If you want to be outside the touristy Peninsula "Chill out hostel" is a good choice. But if you want to be in the Touristy peninsula "Orient youth hostel", "Bahaus Guest house", "New Backpackers" and "Sultan hostel" shall be good choices . |
