| Many tourists do start their journeys from Istanbul and than proceed to other favorite destinations, where main destinations are Cappadocia, Canakkale- Troy, Antalya, Izmir, Ephesus, Bodrum & Marmaris. So here is how to get there from Istanbul |

| By Bus |
Bus network in Turkiye is very well developed. You can reach almost all cities and towns from other cities and towns. Each city or town has their own bus terminals and travels are mainly operated from bus terminals. In Istanbul there are two Bus terminals each on one continent. The bus terminal in Esenler is the biggest and there is also one on the Asian side at Harem. Both terminals are used by bus companies.
 In Major destinations such as Istanbul to Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Marmaris etc. Many companies are operating, however I shall suggest three major companies mainly as they have the most reliable service and the most comfortable buses. Especially when traveling long distances safety and comfort should be the top priority, so I advice to spend a few more and choose one of them.
The three reliable operating companies are Varan , Ulusoy and "BOSS".. And if they have no buses to your connection "Kamil koc", "Pamukkale", "Uludag" or "Metro" can also be chosen. Varan & Ulusoy do not use the Istanbul main bus terminal, besides they have sub stations. "BOSS" has very high quality service and probably the most pricy one, however you shall travel alone in a leather covered seat as seen on picture.
Note: Many bus companies has special call center lines which starts with "444 XX XX", which can be reached all around Turkey as local calls.

| Travel time is 11hrs, so night buses are more preferred. As there is a competition between the companies, the prices are almost the same. Buses leaves to Nevsehir first and afterwards, you can continue to Urgup, Goreme or Avanos. All buses leaves from Istanbul main bus terminal. |

| Istanbul - Canakkale (Gallipoli): |
| Istanbul to canakkale is 310 km. Travel time is around 5,5 hrs, including ferry connection. Gallipoli is just 3 km and Troy is 30km to Canakkale . S o visitors to gallipoli and/or troy do stay mostly in Canakkale. There are buses to Canakkale almost in every hour, so pre-reservation is not necessary.
